    • Applicant must provide documentation of the successful completion of a complete course in Anatomy and Physiology (i.e., Anatomy & Physiology I & II) with a grade of C or better at a college accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, or comparable accrediting entity. 
      • *This course work must include instruction on the systems of the integumentary system (skin). 
      • *Such other course of program as the Department shall deem appropriate and acceptable may be substituted for the course in anatomy & physiology. 
  • Bloodborne Pathogen Training: Must include infectious disease control, waste disposal, hand washing techniques, sterilization equipment operations and methods; and sanitation, disinfection, & sterilization methods and techniques. 
    • Successful Completion of a course on Prevention of Disease Transmission & Bloodborne Pathogens by an instructor through OSHA (or instructor knowledgeable and trained to teach the OSHA course). 
  • CPR/First Aid Certification must be current and up to date through the American Red Cross.
  • Evidence of at least 2 years actual experience in the practice of performing Body Art activities of the kind of which the applicant seeks a License to perform. Experience may be obtained within or outside the Commonwealth.
  • Evidence of a completed apprenticeship program as approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the Department, with instructio in the kind of Body Art for which the applicant seeks a License to perform.
